Heiner Bastian lives in Berlin, after early stays in San Francisco. In his beginnings, he published three poetry collections with Hanser Verlag. Later, he wrote numerous significant contributions and books, especially about the works of Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, and Anselm Kiefer, all of which were created in close friendship and collaboration with the artists. He curated exhibitions of their works in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York, Montreal, and other places. Heiner Bastian is now writing poetry again.
