Xenia Hausner

Xenia Hausner was born in Vienna in an Austrian artist family. She studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. From 1977 to 1992 she was an acclaimed set designer for international theatre and opera productions. In 1992 Hausner began focusing on painting. Xenia Hausner is a founding member of Women Without Borders.

Her works have been shown at numerous museums such as Albertina Vienna, Museum Franz Gertsch Burgdorf, Batliner Art Foundation, Belvedere Museum Vienna, Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum Berlin, Shanghai Art Museum, Today Art Museum Beijing, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Museum Würth France Erstein, Würth Collection Oslo, „Glasstress“ Palazzo Franchetti Venice, PalaisPopulaire Collection Deutsche Bank Berlin 2020.

Her paintings are represented in the collections of Shanghai Art Museum, Today Art Museum Beijing, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Albertina Vienna, Batliner Art Foundation Vienna, Belvedere Museum Vienna, Museum Würth Künzelsau and Würth Collection Oslo, Droege Group Düsseldorf, European Central Bank Frankfurt, The Green Family Art Foundation, Seven Bridges Foundation Greenwich/USA, Steven Bennett Collection San Antonio/USA, Serendipity Arts Trust New Delhi India.

Xenia Hausner lives and works in Vienna and Berlin.
