Opening – Haus Kiefer

Bastian Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of Haus Kiefer, the artist’s former family home in Rastatt-Ottersdorf, on Sunday 27 April 2025. With an exhibition of early works from the 1970s and 1980s, Haus Kiefer will offer a first insight into Kiefer’s artistic beginnings, which already included themes such as landscape, history, mythology and poetry, inspired by Paul Celan, Victor Hugo and Walther von der Vogelweide, among others.

To mark the opening, the cinema Forum-Kino in Rastatt will be showing Wim Wenders’ »ANSELM – Das Rauschen der Zeit« (2023), a film about the life and work of Anselm Kiefer, on Sunday 27 April at 11 am. Several scenes in the film were shot in Kiefer’s former family home and nearby the Rhine.
